Idaho’s overall population is projected to grow at a rate three-times the size of national growth. Idaho’s population is also aging faster than the national average (thanks to the attractiveness of the state to retirees). By 2025 35% of Idahoans will be seniors. between now and 2025 57% of our growth will be driven by the increases in our aging population. Here, in our Treasure Valley, we have both the fastest growing populations and the fastest aging populations. Regrettably, we do not have enough trained healthcare workers to meet current needs, let alone growth demands.

College of Western Idaho (CWI) has identified the urgent need to speed a new generation of healthcare practitioners to our communities as priority #1. Toward that end voters in Ada and Canyon Counties will vote on a levy to help build a state-of-art Health Science Building on the Nampa Campus that will consolidate the technology and educators needed to provide the degrees and certifications that healthcare leaders have identified. CWI YES www.cwiyes.org is an independent Idaho non-profit formed to help ensure that voters support the levy on the November 6 ballot.
